Serving Hands

...but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Eph. 4:15-16

Hands with a hammer, building up

Hands with a cool water cup

Hands given for the ones who wobble

And hobble needing hands

Hands like a brace upon a wall

Hands bearing up against a fall

Hands for the ones that once were rubble

And stubble but now they stand

With serving hands

There's a bucket brigade

Of serving hands

There's a fountain of aid

Flowing in the land

With the help of these hands

A body slowly stands

Reaching out, with hands

There is a Vine whose branches break

There is a Head whose body aches

Rising to heel his body’s reeling

He’s now healing through his hands

His serving hands

Soon to the Head the hands will raise

He will the open hands appraise

Rings will forever shine the glory

And the story of His hands
